How to Change the Wiper Blades on a 2013 to 2018 Toyota RAV4

Step-By-Step Instructions to Replace the Wiper Blades on Your RAV4

These step-by-step instructions can help you change your Toyota RAV4’s windshield wiper blades in no time. Before completing your wiper blade replacement, make sure to check your owners manual for instructions specific to your vehicle. It’s recommended to change your wiper blades in pairs, as they experience the same amount of use and typically wear out at or around the same time.

Step 1: Detach the Wiper Blade from the Wiper Arm


Lift the wiper arm away from the windshield. Slide the blade down toward the hinge of the arm to release it from the arm.

Do It Right: If you have the original-style wiper blades on your RAV4, use a small flathead screwdriver to pry up the release lever on the blade assembly.

Step 2: Slide the Wiper Blade into the J-Hook


Slide the wiper blade down onto the arm then up into the j-hook at the end. If your wiper blade has a plastic cover over the rubber wiper element, now is a good time to remove it and discard it.

Step 3: Lower Wiper Blade Assembly


Carefully lower the wiper arm and blade back down onto the windshield.
