How to Change the Cabin Air Filter on a 2011-2015 Chevy Cruze
The cabin air filter on your 2011 to 2015 Chevy Cruze removes contaminants from the air by trapping dust, soot and dirt from outside air before it has the chance to enter your cabin. Changing your Cruze’s cabin air filter at regular maintenance intervals helps improve the performance and airflow of your temperature control systems, as well as making breathing more comfortable by eliminating odors and allergens.

Step-By-Step Instructions to Change a Cabin Air Filter on a 2011-2015 Chevy Cruze
Step 1: Prepare Your Cruze for the Job
Open the glove box and empty the contents. Move the passenger seat back if you need more room to work.
Step 2: Detach Glove Box Fasteners
Use a small flat blade screwdriver or trim tool to get underneath the tabs on either side of the inside of the compartment to push them forward so you can remove them. If your Cruze instead has a cable with a catch, slip it off to allow the glove box to drop down. Detach the damper on the outside of the glove box by feeding the catch out through the opening.
Step 3: Remove the Glove Box from its Hinges
Now you should be able to tilt the glove box down and slide it off its hinges and out of the foot well. With the glove box out of the way, you should be able to see the cabin air filter.
Step 4: Remove the Cabin Air Filter Panel
Push in the tabs on the cabin air filter panel and remove it for access to the housing.
Step 5: Remove the Old Filter
Carefully slide the old cabin air filter out of the housing.
Step 6: Clean Out the Housing
Clean any dirt or debris out of the housing.
Step 7: Install the New Cabin Air Filter
Slide your new filter into place, making sure the airflow indicator arrow is pointed down.
Step 8: Reinstall the Cabin Air Filter Panel
Reinstall the cabin air filter panel, making sure the tabs snap into place to secure it.
Step 9: Reinstall the Glove Box
Slide the glove box back into its hinges.
Step 10: Reattach Glove Box Fasteners
Reinstall the damper by feeding the catch back through the opening. Reengage the tabs on either side of the glove box.
Step 11: Replace Personal Items
Replace any items you may have removed. Close the glove box.
