Step-By-Step Instructions to Change the Wiper Blades on a 2011-2015 Chevy Cruze
Step 1: Raise the Wiper Arm
Lift the wiper arm on the side you want to change first so that it stands vertically.
|
Do It Right: Be careful not to let the wiper arm swing down into the windshield at any time during the process. This can damage your windshield. |
Step 2: Detach the Old Blade
With the wiper arm up, look for a tab on the blade near the hinge where it attaches to the arm. Pushing the tab in will allow the blade to be released so you can slip it out of the hook at the end of the arm to detach it.
Step 3: Remove the Protective Sheath
If your new blade has a sheath protecting the rubber on the blade, remove the sheath before installation.
Step 4: Install the New Blade
Move the blade into place and slide the clip on the blade into the hook of the wiper arm. You should hear it snap into place.
Step 5: Lower the Wiper Arm
Once the blade is secure in the wiper arm, lower it slowly and carefully back down into contact with the windshield.
|
Do It Right: It’s always a good idea to replace wiper blades in pairs, so repeat these steps on the other side. |
