Ford dealerships are coming together for a one-night-only event that will raise money to benefit local communities and bring consumers together for a unique American Idol experience that gives them an introduction to the newly designed Ford Fusion.

The finale to the "Random Acts of Fusion" event will be the "Go Further with Ford Night," which will be hosted by Ryan Seacrest. The event has already attracted more than 12 million consumer engagements with the Ford Fusion by playing out a story through multimedia platforms.

"Random Acts of Fusion has captured America's imagination," said Lew Echlin, Fusion marketing manager. "Go Further with Ford Night is our way of pairing that imagination with reality by offering consumers the chance to give back to their local communities, have a lot of fun, enjoy the final random act - which will test their judging skills to win a unique VIP American Idol experience - and meet the all-new Ford Fusion in person."

For every person who visits one of the Ford dealerships that are participating in the promotion, the dealers will donate $10, which will go up to a total of $500 per dealership, to a local charity. Consumers will have the opportunity to compete to win a special VIP package with American Idol, allowing them to test their judging skills on camera after viewing a special message from Ryan Seacrest on a webcam.

"We all want to be part of something bigger," Echlin added. "This is a great way for our customers to go further with Ford and our dealers, and to give something back to their local communities."

Consumers who are interested in participating only have to be 18 years old and visit to enter for their chance to win tickets to a live taping of American Idol. Participants will also be eligible to win an all new 2013 Ford Fusion.

With the Ford Fusion expected to give consumers an alternative to the popular Toyota Camry, Ford is hoping that the technology and style of the 2013 Fusion will push the vehicle past the popularity of the Camry, which has been the most popular sedan on the market the past several years. The new Fusion is expected to have a better performance than the previous model, offering its EcoBoost system and the new Lane-Keeping System.
