The Car Care Council is holding the largest ever consumer vehicle check up event at the 49th Annual Northwood University International Auto Show this October in Midland, Michigan. Students enrolled in Northwood's Automotive Aftermarket Management program will help plan the event in conjunction with the Car Care Council.

The event is established to provide vehicle awareness for consumers. It will offer free vehicle inspections by technicians who have volunteered, give students a chance to work with aftermarket companies and will provide educational demonstrations for preventative maintenance.

"This unprecedented vehicle check-up event will be a huge footprint for the aftermarket, and for the first time, add an element of vehicle service and repair to the auto show's 500-plus new vehicle displays," said Rich White, executive director, Car Care Council. "We are pleased to be participating in the popular Northwood University International Auto Show to represent the automotive aftermarket, work with their students and have the opportunity to promote proper car care to their nearly 50,000 anticipated attendees."

The Car Care Council will also have its Be Car Care Aware vehicle guide on hand for consumers, offering maintenance tips to take home, from shocks and struts to windshield wipers.

The event is scheduled for October 7, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
