In the wake of the shooting at the theater in Aurora, Colorado, Regan Smith's car he will drive in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series will pay tribute to the victims.

The NASCAR team is based only a few miles from the movie theater where the shooting took place, according to Joe Garone, the general manager of Furniture Row Racing team.

"We mourn the loss of life from this senseless tragedy, and feel we also need to stand up and acknowledge the heroism of those people who put their lives on the line to save others," Garone said in a statement.

The No. 78 Chevrolet will have the side painted to include "Aurora, CO," in addition to the names of the 12 people who died in the shooting.

The back of the car will also have an inscription that reads "For Those Lost, Those Injured and Countless Acts of Bravery 7/20/12."

The Furniture Row team also recently replaced its crew chief, appointing Todd Berrier with the position after Pete Rondeau left in hopes of him boosting Regan Smith's performance.
